Every .IO player knows the pattern: spawn, grow a little, get greedy, die to someone ten times your size. The good news is that the players on top of the leaderboard are not superhuman — they just follow better habits. Here are the nine that matter most on Game Crafty's .IO arenas.

The survival habits

  • 1. Play the edges early. The centre of the map is where giants hunt. Grow quietly near the borders first.
  • 2. Never chase a smaller player into open ground. That "easy kill" is often bait, and his bigger friend is waiting.
  • 3. Protect your tail. In snake and territory games, your tail is your life. Cross it only when you are certain it is safe.
  • 4. Eat the fallen. When two big players fight, the loser drops a feast. Arrive third, eat well, leave fast.
  • 5. Use boosts as a weapon, not a taxi. Boosting to escape or to cut someone off wins games; boosting everywhere just burns your size.

The mindset habits

  • 6. Set a size goal per run. "Reach the top 10, then play bold" beats wandering without a plan.
  • 7. Watch the leaderboard, not just your score. Knowing who the biggest threat is — and where — keeps you alive.
  • 8. Take breaks between runs. Tilt is real. Three angry deaths in a row means it is time for a puzzle game and a reset.
  • 9. Learn one game deeply. Ten hours in one arena teaches more than ten minutes in sixty arenas.

Put two or three of these into practice on your next session from the Trending page and watch your survival time climb.
